After a long festive slack, Dhollywood is now gearing up for an action-packed November

After a long festive slumber at the box office, Dhollywood is all set to have an action-packed month ahead. With as many as five releases slated to hit the theatre in November including the National Award winning film Hellaro, the Gujarati film industry seems to be heading towards ending the year with a bang. With just two months before we enter 2020, the Gujarati film industry seems to have reserved its best for the last with films like Gujarat 11, Diya The Wonder Girl, G, Luv Ni Love Storys, Mr Kalakar etc lined up for release. Festivals are a busy time for all of us. In between spending time with friends and family soaking in the festivities, to charting out plans for the festive vacation, especially after Diwali, there is hardly any time to go for films. This is why most filmmakers feel that releasing a film during festivals like Navratri and Diwali amounts to less footfall. “During Navratri, garba takes over everything, and during Diwali, people are either travelling or busy celebrating the festival with their loved ones. So, films are not a priority,” says filmmaker Suresh Bishnoy. With a possible decline in the number of audience during festivals, it makes sense to choose a date that will bring more numbers. Adds Suresh, “After the festive season is over, people are usually trying to get back to their normal routine and after such long celebrations, it is usually difficult to do that.
